Winter Wonder Drink
This is a drink, or more like a medicine drink, that keeps cold away from! Into just a simple orange, lemon, ginger and honey winter drink, added some secrets so that it helps to boost immune system strong during the dodgy winter months. It includes turmeric, which has great benefits such towards your skin health, however, if you have children, you might want to adjust the number of spices you add. I usually make double the amount, keep them in the fridge and warm up when needed for the following few days.

Total Time: 35 minutes
Yield: Makes 5 to 6 cups of drink

Ingredients
- 2 Oranges
- 1/2 Lemon
- 6 cups water
- about 6 teaspoons honey*
Spices (adjustable)
- 1/6 of a dried star anise**
- 1cm of a cinnamon stick
- 2cm fresh ginger
- 1 full teaspoon turmeric powder***
How To
- Wash and peel the skins of Oranges and Lemon. (Don't through the skins, they can be utilised for many things!!)
- Cut the fruits into chunky sizes and add to a pan and add water.
- You can add ginger here at the same time after peeling the skin and no need to slice or grate.
- Start boiling with a tablespoon of honey and spices except for turmeric and continue for at least 20 minutes with low heat. I simmer for 40 minutes if I put spices.
Take out the spices including ginger if desired and add turmeric. Add more water to the level where you started.- Continue boiling for another 5 - 10 minutes.
- Pour into cups and add a tablespoonful of honey in each cups. (make it more or less depending on your taste)
tips
*You can use brown sugar instead of honey or any types of sweetener. I don't put anything but kids love it with honey.
**I crack one pointy end of the spice and put each time.
***You can use fresh turmeric instead.
