Chinese Dumplings

I’m so lucky to know my friend from China. Her cooking is so authentic and simply wonderful. I met her when my son became a good friend of her son, whose family have been migrated to the UK from China a couple of years ago.

Her steamed dumpling.. what can I say, it’s filled with her sophisticated personality inside and out. Not that I know her for so long or so well, I just feel like I know her for a long long time. We do not communicate well with language but we sit for hours just sharing food and stories over the table. She showed me once, how it’s all done but I must admit, it will take some years for me to just master the pastry (the skin) itself.  She said the people from the north of China loves to make and eat those dumplings daily. What a wonderful world she left behind.. but due to her family business, she does go back home quite often so I’d say it’s alright.

I must catch up with her soon for more lessons. It’s not so easy to make an arrangement with a busy lady like her but we will try soon.
