餃子 Gyoza (Chinese Dumplings)
It was my pleasure making my son’s favorite food before he was off to PGL school trip earlier this week. He was away for 5 days and he is due to be back this afternoon. Really looking forward to hearing what he’s experienced out there.
My kids love making the little parcels with me (although their shaping skill is quite not upto the standard to be in the picture yet) and we finish eating them so quickly that I always regret making more of it at a time. Somehow, when we pan fry them, we almost steam them in the pan to begin with but we make the bottom bit very crispy and serve them upside down like that. I think that was the twist the Japanese people implemented after importing the idea from the mainland China? Or I could be wrong, there might be a Chinese region where they serve them like that? Anyway, Again, I will upload the recipe one day soon.
