Life without Oven and Microwave
I thought a life without washing machine was hard when I went to Nepal (but now they have that too), but now I live my life without my oven and microwave.. there is a problem with our electric circuit and some parts of kitchen doesn’t work and it’s been more than a week now!!! I miss them so much especially the oven! As hob is working so microwave isn’t so much missed, sorry my lovely microwave. Without oven, my life isn’t complete.. which is worse, not having my husband around to help with my garden and school runs or a oven.. let’s not go there now.
I was invited to my friends’ house yesterday for lunch and I had the most delicious lasagna, one with meat and one without. The one without had green (I think they were) lentils as meat substitute and both had spinach along layered with the pasta sheets. Both were so yummy and just thinking and typing about it now, makes my mouth go watery. Just the right moisture and and the white sauce was rather less than I usually make but had right consistency and so tasty that it bonded the whole thing so nicely. Not too heavy at all and so satisfying.
I know what I’m going to make first after I get my oven fixed or replaced. I don’t think I can make it as nice but it’s a challenge I’d like to take!
