About MyCookingPad.com

Mycookingpad.com domain came in my life in 2012, with a simple purpose to create a website as my own recipe book. As I tend to keep all my favorite recipes everywhere digitally or on papers, I needed a place to keep and organize. Also, as a massive food and cooking lover, I spend loads of my time in the kitchen yet my cooking can be very random or often very adventurous. Most of the time, my unexpected masterpiece dish comes from what's available in the fridge without any recipes to follow. But if I want to repeat the same recipe again, it doesn't turn out the same or forget about the dish completely which is a bit of a shame. So, here we are, that is how I started this website to at least take a photo and keep what's been on the dining table for the future reference.

However, I found taking pictures as I cook is quite a task. The problem is that I want to eat as soon as I finish cooking and my interest is in the taste but not taking decent enough pictures to upload to the website. Also, my hungry kids will not wait for me to look for a mobile phone but will dive right into them. But thanks to my friend who told me she enjoys my recipes on the website and reading blogs recently, I thought I'll be more serious so that I can achieve my original goal and also share the food with my friends and family at the same time.

When I was young, as soon as I lived away from home, I missed sharing food with my family or the sense of happiness around the dining table and started to cook for my friends. I believe food is what brings people together. Sharing food with people (or sometimes even with your pets?) is very intimate, and through this experience we become close. We cook, chat, argue, eat, and laugh together and that's a wonderful moment. Here, I’d love to share my recipes with my friends and family who can not join us around our daily dining table. I will be delighted if they can join us whenever they are in this webspace!

Since we live in England, I'm from Japan and my husband is from Nepal, you can imagine how many different types of food we eat each day. Japanese breakfast, English lunch, and Nepalese dinner were what we had today. I'm constantly learning about food, cooking, and culture, and moreover, the body and mental health that reside together. It is my joy to share everything possible through the digital world and also if you could share yours, that is exactly my dream come true!
