A Happy New Year – 2018!
First of all, I’d like to send my Best Wishes to everyone around the world!
What a great way to end 2017 and the start of the brand new 2018! We spent the time our dear friends’ house with great food, drink, company and some dance. I am very excited to tell you I’m full of ambitions and plans to better myself this year and hopefully we can share the stories with you here on mycookingpad.com.

You can see some of the delicious food we enjoyed prepared by our dear friend Ana. She always introduces us to some exciting new tastes or our usual favourites, and it certainly wasn’t an exception this time. I loved everything we shared on the table. Sorry, I cannot show you the main course with lots of yummy prawns she prepared, since we were too much in a rush to tuck into the plate and didn’t really have time for reaching to a camera.

But I managed to take a shot of a Spanish sweet called, Tortas De Aceite, which is like a sweet biskets with fennel seeds and sugar coatings. It was seriously yummy and I need to start my hunt to look for it, if available around where we live.

Also, we had some Japanese sponge cake with Strawberry and Blueberry that I made. Following my son’s birthday cake, it was the second sponge cake that I made in the last 1 week or so and I think I am glad to say after all the trial and error, this is the one that I like as it’s the easiest that can bring smiles on everyone’s face.
Overall, it was such a memorable evening which continued until 5 in the early morning!? We came home all looking like zombies ready to face the slow but very special start of the year 2018! Let’s keep on eating nice food and make our body and mind happy!!
